Ohio - Charitable Senior Tax Accountant

The candidate will operate within federal, state, and local laws, regulations, cases, and practices in preparing and filing the appropriate federal, state and/or local charitable tax returns consisting mainly of Forms 990, 990PF, 5227 and 1041. Will research tax issues and communicate and discuss tax matters with clients, attorneys, Trust Advisors, Investment Managers, and other service partners. Review transactions in charitable accounts to ensure that tax reporting is correct and that tax responsibility of Bank is being served correctly and make necessary corrections to Bank records. Manage tax notices and audits conducted by the taxing authorities in working with in-house and external counsel in resolving issues of a complex nature. Stay current with tax law changes and current best practices in the industry through continuing research and training.

The candidate should have a B.S./B.A. in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics with MBA. CPA, J.D., CTFA, MST, LL.M., or EA would be preferred. Should meet IRS requirements to secure a registered PTIN. Must have 5 years of tax preparation/research experience. The candidate will utilize cutting-edge technology and work with team-oriented colleagues. Will establish/maintain long-term collaborative relationships with clients and internal colleagues. Coordinate and deliver accurate, quality US tax returns for assignees and coordinate worldwide foreign tax filings, as appropriate. Coordinate the delivery of various Global Mobility and other Tax services offered by the firm in a proactive manner that meets/exceeds client expectations. Review international assignment-related calculations such as tax cost projections, tax equalization calculations and hypothetical tax calculations. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related work experience OR a Graduate degree and 4 years of related work experience. A degree in a related field is essential. A CPA, EA, or J.D. or other related experience or certification relevant to an area of specialization is essential. Must have 3+ years of tax experience. Should have proficient knowledge of tax laws with specialized knowledge in at least one technical area. Proficient knowledge of automated tax processing systems is essential. The candidate will be responsible for the delivery of a full range of tax services for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries. Responsibilities include: interacting closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise; developing and managing staff; working closely with partners and staff on client management, practice development and business development activities; and formulating and delivering innovative tax planning and tax savings strategies. Oversee the efforts of multiple client services teams on client engagements. Plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries. Provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients. Market, sell, design, and implement tax-planning strategies for clients and manage to budget. Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews. Should have experience in Corporate, S-Corp. and/or Partnership returns. Must have superior analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns, partnership returns, and combined state tax returns. Should have outstanding experience in staff and tax management in an integrated client service team. Must have computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology.
