Employment Counsel

Atlanta GA Employment Counsel Responsibilities: Provide legal advice and counsel regarding employment issues and serve as subject-matter expert within this area. Draft, negotiate and revise as appropriate independent contractor/extern/intern/temp agency agreements and other employment related agreements. Manage's relevant employment policies, procedures and guidelines, adding, reviewing and revising as appropriate. Be willing to learn and assist Associate General Counsel, Commercial, Corporate and Employment on US and global employment laws, including maintaining policies, updating templates, and reviewing issues raised by the People Team for compliance with applicable law(s). Collaborate with other corporate functions, including legal, workplace resources, people team, executive team, and finance team to resolve issues and mitigate risks. Assist with internal investigations, as appropriate, through every phase. Develop and deliver training and communications programs to educate employees and management and promote ethical and compliant culture. Conduct risk assessments and evaluate effectiveness of compliance program elements; recommend and implement improvements based on such evaluation. Assist in maintaining our subsidiary and affiliated company corporate documentation under the direction of AGC, Commercial, Corporate and Employment.

Qualifications: JD degree and active membership in at least one U.S. state Bar. 3+ years experience, including substantial experience in Employment Law. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Sound judgment and ability to analyze complex situations. High degree of professional ethics and integrity. Excellent project management and organizational skills.

Legal Counsel, Employment

Atlanta GA Legal Counsel, Employment The candidate will provide day-to-day proactive global employment law advice, assistance and counseling. Will coordinate with regional counsel to ensure consistent application of process and standards globally. Assist with successful management of the employee lifecycle - hiring, performance management, employee relations, and terminations. Coordinate with Human Resources to prioritize, respond to, and manage employee relations concerns, investigations, employee departures, litigation, and agency charges. Oversee, direct, and/or conduct higher risk internal investigations. Work collaboratively and responsively with a broad range of colleagues in the U.S. and globally, ensuring positive relationships between Legal, Human Resources, Finance, Stock Administration, IT, Operations, and Corporate Development to facilitate a coordinated team approach. Work cross-functionally with our Privacy, Cyber Security, and Compliance teams. Coordinate with the Employment team to create and continuously improve Firm's global employment library, including US offer letters, global employment agreements and related documents. Assist in developing and continuously improving international employee handbooks in various countries. Review and support Firm's global compensation and benefits programs. Assist in managing independent contractor initiatives and programs. Recommend, implement, and improve employment law related training. Develop best-in-class employment law practices, procedures, and policies. Help develop strategic initiatives and processes that will advance and scale Firm's business while continuing to mitigate risk. Pitch-in on whatever legal work needs doing, whenever it needs to be done.

The candidate must have 6+ years of relevant experience (though more is welcome) focused on employment law at a law firm and/or in-house legal department. Should have J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Must be Member in good standing in any State Bar. Must be comfortable handling multiple projects and transactions in parallel, often with short deadlines. Must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills. Prior experience working at or with technology companies is desired. Global employment law experience is a plus.
