Senior Labor And Employment Counsel

Daly City CA Senior Labor and Employment Counsel Responsibilities: is expected to provide legal advice on U.S. and international labor and employment related laws, regulations, rules, and orders for the Company (with its headquarters in California) on a global basis. Will be able to provide day-to-day advice to assist the Company in managing and mitigating labor and employment risks, and will include the following responsibilities: Develop and implement employment policies to ensure best practices and compliance with applicable laws and regulations; Partner with cross-functional teams, including the Executive, Legal and HR teams, to provide strategic, business-oriented employment law guidance for successful execution of Company initiatives; Investigate and respond to federal and state administrative complaints, including EEOC and local agency charges; Manage litigation related to employment matters, and oversee and manage outside counsel with regard to disputes and litigation in the various areas of practice, including: Title VII and similar laws; affirmative action; disability access and accommodation; employee benefits; harassment and discrimination; unfair competition and trade secrets; unfair labor practice charges; wage and hour claims; wrongful terminations; and reductions in force; Provide legal guidelines and support regarding the companys contingent workforce and agency workers; Support merger and acquisition transactions and related integration of employees; Collaborate with the People team to generate and implement training on HR and employment law topics.

The candidate must possess a law degree from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing with the California State Bar. Must have 7+ years of experience as an employment lawyer with legal experience gained from a combination of private practice and in-house roles. Have experience conducting employment-rinvestigations, drafting pleadings and motion work, propounding and responding to discovery, taking and defending depositions, conducting witness interviews, overseeing settlement negotiations, arguing motions, and attending hearings and mediations. Experienced attorney with a strong track record in managing a broad range of legal issues and interacting closely with business leaders. Nust have a demonstrated and proven ability to work well with senior Human Resources and operating executives, leveraging strong intellectual, conceptual and analytical skills and be effective at building consensus among business leaders. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to exercise judgment and diplomacy while addressing sensitive or challenging issues with internal or external stakeholders, as well as an ability to think creatively and strategically.

Santa Clara CA Employment & Investigations Counsel (B5) The candidate will be expected to have a solid foundation of employment and litigation experience and possess strong investigation skills to manage diverse, complex, and global projects. Will also play a critical role in coordination and project management between HR, Digital Forensics & Data Security, IT, and business clients. This includes participating in corporate strategy as well as in shaping policy, programs, and training on issues related to employee mobility, intellectual property, privacy, and data security. Manage and conduct offensive and defensive investigations, while collaborating with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to cost effectively and timely resolve matters. This includes managing all aspects of these matters, including strategy, early case assessment, matter resolution, and driving lessons learned into policy and process changes.
