Employment Law Attorney

Los Angeles CA Employment Law Attorney The candidate will work directly within Employment Law department and work closely with Workers Compensation department, Personal Injury department, and other departments within the Firm. Will represent Applicants on matters pertaining to violations of Federal, State, and Local employment agencies. Will also provide in-house counsel to Firm Management on a variety of issues, as needed.

A Juris Doctorate degree and current good standing with CA State bar is required; 1-3 years experience working in a law firm Employment department; must possess strong interpersonal and social skills; demonstrates and takes initiative and has compassion for those requiring services; excellent written and verbal communication skills; must have good familiarity with Employment Law and Workers Compensation terminology; and bilingual, fluent in English/Spanish preferred.

Corporate Counsel, Employment

San Francisco CA Corporate Counsel, Employment Duties: Provide advice and training on a broad range of employment issues, including HR practices, performance management, terminations, recruiting, hiring, compensation and benefits, wage and hour and labor relations. Draft employment policies and programs that balance legal risk with business impact.. Manage claims, litigation and supervise outside counsel, if necessary. Respond to EEOC, OFCCP, Office of Civil Rights, DFEH and other state and local agency inquiries and charges. Support immigration issues, with outside counsel support, as needed. Draft training and materials related to diversity and inclusion and advise on internal creation and dissemination of statistics and data related to diversity.

Qualifications: Must have a JD Degree or equivalent degree. Must have 5-7 years of experience in a law firm working in broad-based employment law or similar in-house experience. Must be admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in California and comfortable researching and advising on employment laws in other jurisdictions. Experience interacting with the OFCCP, EEOC and state and local EEO agencies on complex matters is preferred. Experience in advising and implementing HR/employment policies, privacy, data protection, and intellectual property ownership issues in the employment context is preferred.

Primary responsibilities will be to provide advice and counsel to management and Human Resource professionals on a broad range of employment issues including: recruiting; hiring; employee relations; discipline and terminations; internal investigations; leaves of absence; wage and hour compliance; EEO compliance; restrictive covenants; and contingent worker issues. Additional responsibilities include facilitating employment law training and managing outside counsel on employment litigation matters.

The candidate should have J.D., excellent academic credentials and admitted to practice in California. Should have 5+ years relevant law firm experience. Must have experience managing and completing complex projects. Should have excellent knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (including ADA, ADEA, FMLA, CFRA, FLSA, etc.).
