Associate General Counsel - International Employment

Broomfield CO Associate General Counsel - International Employment The candidate will be accountable for directing and advising with respect to a specialized area (international employment law; immigration) within the Law Department, which may include management of one or more staff. Provides legal counsel to the corporation; soundly assesses and effectively manages legal risk; has deep understanding of the business, its objectives, and risk tolerances. Provides legal advice, strategic direction and potential solutions on employment issues arising outside of the U.S. (LatAm, EMEA, APAC and Canada) to regional HR and business leaders. Labor & Employment/compliance Counsel

Denver CO Labor & Employment/Compliance Counsel The candidate will be primary resource for all labor and employment matters. Assisting with the development of appropriate policies and procedures; and counseling regarding an array of labor and employment law matters, including accommodations, discipline, compensation, ethics, compliance, union/represented relations and grievances, collective bargaining, and fair labor and equal employment requirements. Providing advice regarding the various federal and state whistleblower laws including but not limited to OFCCP, WARN, OSHA, ERISA, NLRB, Mandatory disclosures, False Claims Act, conflicts of interests, data protection, and non-competes. Preparing responses to EEOC and state employment agency discrimination charges and other types of employment-related claims. Monitoring state and federal employment legislation and governmental agency enforcement priorities and providing related advice.

The candidate should have a bachelor's degree and 8-12 years of experience; advanced degrees are typically preferred at this level. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Commitment to ethical behavior. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to travel. Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Developing, updating, advising on employee policies and processes in close collaboration with the HR community. Proactively informing, developing and training the HR community and business leaders on labor and employment laws and regulations and best practices, including developing and delivering training programs. Monitoring the enactment and enforcement of U.S. privacy laws and regulations; knowledge of EU privacy laws and regulations preferred. Serve as Subject Matter Expert on relevant privacy laws such as CCPA, GDPR, and the FTC best practices and drive product compliance by collaborating with engineering, product management, and information security. Drafting and/or revising privacy policies and procedures, privacy statements and product terms of use and related collateral. Collaborating with information security to address incident responses, including the review, coordination and management of potential privacy or data security incidents and related investigations, notifications and resolution. Assisting legal team with overflow day-to-day commercial transactional work, including client and vendor agreements. Must have Degree from an accredited college or university and active membership and good standing in at least one state bar. Should have 5-7+ years of employment law experience, both in a law firm and in an in-house setting. Must have strong knowledge of full range of US Labor and Employment law including employment litigation, anti-discrimination, anti-retaliation, leaves of absence, non-competition and confidentiality, compensation, accommodations, discipline, separations, restructurings and RIFs, and independent contractor classification.
