Human Resources Support: Counsel Human Resources on compliance with state and federal employment laws including Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FMLA and FLSA; review and update employment policies, including employee handbooks, bonus plans, compensation guidelines and severance programs; train and advise HR on recent developments in employment law; support Labor Relations and factory HR partners in responding to union grievances and information requests, determining mandatory subjects of bargaining and implementing the Company s union avoidance strategy; conduct legal review (including adverse impact analyses and WARN assessments) of workforce reductions, consolidations and restructurings. Internal Dispute Resolution: Draft and submit position statements, responses to information requests and other responsive submissions in state and federal administrative agencies matters; represent company in mediations and negotiate and draft settlement and separation agreements; respond to and resolve pre-litigation demands. Outside Counsel Management: Oversee outside counsel in L&E matters, including establishing case strategy, reviewing and approving pleadings, discovery responses and dispositive motions and briefs, among other dispute management tasks; manage outside counsel spend to budget.
