Senior Privacy Counsel

Atlanta GA Senior Privacy Counsel Duties: Developing and maintaining subject matter expertise in areas of data use and protection laws within the global privacy landscape. Enabling to maintain its rapid pace of innovation in data intelligence, while remaining privacy compliant. Developing and evangelizing new external and internal policies, transfer mechanisms and similar documentation related to personal data use. Training employee teams on data protection requirements, as appropriate. Managing day to day privacy compliance operations.

Qualifications: A JD Degree and admission in good standing to one state Bar or equivalent. 5-7 years' relevant general privacy related experience, at least a material portion of which has been at a nationally or internationally recognized law firm with a robust privacy practice. Intimate knowledge of the GDPR and CCPA as well as general awareness of additional emerging privacy regulations. An in-depth understanding of the necessary pieces of a robust privacy compliance program, including appropriate privacy related policies, transfer mechanisms, data mapping, privacy impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments, data protection impact assessments and data transfer impact assessments. Familiarity with the technical, logistical and operational measures required to maintain privacy compliance. Ability and desire to: Develop close working relationships with data scientists, researchers, engineers, product developers and marketing professionals and become a trusted source on product related privacy matters. Resolve privacy compliance issues practicably by weighing rigid regulatory frameworks against the realities of B2B SaaS industry practices. Communicate clearly and concisely with colleagues at all levels of the Company. Expand the scope of your practice beyond your primary responsibilities to work on additional legal matters that arise from the operations of a dynamic and fast-growing global company. Organize, prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.

Ethics And Compliance And Privacy Counsel Or Ethics And Compliance Director

Carrollton GA Ethics and Compliance and Privacy Counsel or Ethics and Compliance Director Duties: Management of Ethics & Compliance program, which includes its Code of Business Conduct; learning, communications, and engagement strategy and implementation; policy management and development; cross-functional collaboration and coordination with other compliance leaders; and risk and program assessments. Management of ethics helpline, case management system and process, and investigations, including conducting/assisting with internal investigations, implementing process enhancements, and preparing reporting for Board of Directors. Leading projects designed to continue to enhance E&C program. Supporting privacy and cybersecurity related and corporate governance related initiatives.

Qualifications: Has a law degree and has practiced for 4+ years or, in the case of a non-attorney, has 7+ years working in corporate compliance, ethics, legal, governance, risk and controls, privacy/cybersecurity, or auditing. Has the highest standards of ethics and integrity and is able to maintain confidentiality of information at all times. Has deep and broad ethics and compliance subject matter expertise, is well-versed in ethics and compliance program management and standard methodologies and has strong project management and execution skills. Has experience supporting corporate privacy/cybersecurity programs. Has ability to acquire and demonstrate fluency in the businesses and strategy (experience in the manufacturing industry is not necessary but is a plus). Managing Director, Global Privacy Counsel

Atlanta GA Managing Director, Global Privacy Counsel The candidate will lead a team of regional Privacy attorneys and continue to build upon company's global privacy program. Reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer, will provide strategic, smart risk-based global privacy legal advice and support to company's business units, HR, internal audit and legal teams. Provide strategic privacy legal guidance to company's privacy managers on Privacy-by-Design/Privacy-by-Default legal requirements. Collaborate with key stakeholders in the assessment of company's global privacy regulatory risks; and provide advice and recommendations to the business on identified enterprise privacy risks as well as best practice sharing with regional legal teams. Advise on privacy policies and procedures for company's global privacy program in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations. Act as an escalation point for the drafting and negotiation of global data privacy provisions in contracts with authorized third parties and customers. Drive cross-functional privacy governance meetings with key internal stakeholders. Create and perform targeted privacy trainings and awareness across the enterprise. Co-lead privacy investigations as privileging attorney and integrate lessons learned back into company's global privacy program. Provide support on company's M&A transactions.

The candidate should have a J.D. degree with admission to at least one State Bar. Must have 10+ years of global privacy legal experience advising on data privacy laws compliance and regulatory risks management, including experience managing a global privacy compliance program. Sound technical expertise on privacy risk is required with general knowledge of foundational requirements of privacy laws and best practices in the United States & Canada and at least one other region (e.g. Asia, Europe and/or South America). Experience providing strategic legal support to ensure GDPR and CCPA compliance readiness by an organization is needed. European and United States IAPP privacy certifications desired. Expertise with privacy laws in Asia is a huge plus. HR privacy legal expertise is an asset.
