Insurance Defense Attorney

Woodland Hills CA Insurance Defense Attorney The candidate should have experience in litigation including depositions, motion practice and arbitrations. Will handle a full case load of personal injury cases while providing guidance and counsel to your clients through effective communication. This is a phenomenal opportunity to litigate cases and gain trial experience for a major insurance company. Will use Litigation Protocols to develop and revise appropriate legal strategy for discovery, investigation, handling and trial/hearing of cases or matters; communicate and develop those strategies and personally meet with Liberty Mutual's Claims Representatives and insured Clients to render clear, unambiguous legal opinions and advice. Understand and creatively use technology; apply technology to the process of law to improve quality and reduce cost. Possess the skills necessary to use technology to work remotely. Capable of working with office staff who are remotely located. Will conduct necessary and appropriate discovery, hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations and similar proceedings. Researches the law applicable to cases or matters; drafts legal documents, pleadings, motions, briefs and opinions as required. If requested, conducts settlement negotiations. Remains current with developments in the law; understands medical, scientific, construction, products, engineering or similar issues and defenses involved with cases or matters. Prepares and conducts training sessions for the Legal, Claims or other departments as required. Provide daily direction and guidance to junior attorneys while acting as a team or group leader for an assigned group within the office. Should have Completion of law school with LLB or JD and admission to the bar in California. Special license to practice before a particular board or federal court may be necessary. A minimum of 5 successful years as an attorney. Insurance Defense experience preferred. 1st Chair trial experience required. The individual is required to have a general knowledge of insurance law and specific understanding of the operations and requirements of insured clients, customers and Liberty Mutual. Insurance Regulatory And Compliance Counsel

San Francisco CA Insurance Regulatory And Compliance Counsel The candidate responsibilities will include review of insurance product filings and management of other insurance regulatory matters, interaction with regulators, drafting of policies and other governance documents, drafting and reviewing marketing, agency and other insurance-related, and other commercial agreements; drafting and reviewing corporate governance policies and procedures; and assistance with product development. Will be responsible for achieving corporate compliance objectives by forecasting requirements, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. Engage in the general practice of corporate law, which may include one or more of the following: litigation management and oversight, corporate governance, and assistance in corporate transactions. Manage and oversee insurance policy rate and form filings; Manage and oversee market conduct and financial exams; Oversee preparation of other regulatory filings (e.g., Holding Company, company licensing); Partner and interact with state insurance regulators; Manage department's handling of consumer complaints, and information requests; Provide guidance on financial statement disclosures; Oversee monitoring of insurance laws and insurance department actions; Effectively work in a team environment, closely collaborate and provide team support with peers across legal, compliance and other control functions. Should have 6+ years of experience specific to insurance regulatory matters, preferably with a property and casualty company, a large law firm or an in-house equivalent.
