Actress Hayden Panettiere died at age 36 after emergency responders found her unresponsive at a South Carolina residence, according to reports.
An acquaintance called 911 after discovering Panettiere unresponsive at a Greenville home on Aug. 16. Emergency crews then arrived and tried to revive her.
Medical personnel reportedly performed CPR and used advanced life-support measures during the emergency response.
Authorities Investigate Panettiere’s Death
The Greenville Police Department and Greenville County Coroner’s Office are investigating Panettiere’s death.
Reports say emergency dispatchers mentioned a possible overdose and cardiac arrest. However, officials have not confirmed an overdose as the cause of death.
That detail remains unconfirmed. An emergency call alone cannot determine how someone died.
So far, authorities have found no signs of foul play or suspicious activity.
An autopsy should help determine the cause of death. It may also provide more details about what happened. Officials could release more information after they review the findings.
Emergency Crews Attempted Resuscitation
