Procurement Engagement Consultant Duties: Manages the day-to-day functions and performance associated with VMO procurement and sourcing strategies. Provide oversight and guidance to contract and source functions and hold team members accountable for executing on agreed upon expectations. Provide overall strategic execution in sourcing and procurement engagements. Manage engagement workload and reporting. Lead sourcing initiatives in collaboration with customers and stakeholders. Manage engagements to ensure a sound sourcing approach, strategy adherence, and that a competitive and diverse environment is maintained. Negotiate contract pricing, terms and conditions (both business and/or legal), as applicable. Negotiate agreements that incorporate business requirements, compliance and fiscal responsibility to improve service levels and ensure flexibility over the life of the engagement. Conduct analysis of new and/or existing Contracts/Contract Packages, Purchase Orders, Reports and supporting documentation for accuracy, consistency, completeness and compliance. Develop, maintain, and ensure strong adherence to policies and procedures designed to meet / exceed audit and internal control requirements. Responsible for the continuous development and review of policies, procedures, standard processes, or guidelines to support controls and compliance requirements. Provide periodic management reporting of performance (e.g., metrics, statistics, trends, etc.) and progress towards objectives; along with policy and procedure exceptions. Provide information and data to support actions and drive key procurement/vendor management decisions. Responsible for the successful transition to new or successful service providers when others underperform. . Develop approaches to monitor the effectiveness and success of plans and make necessary adjustments to accommodate changes and new opportunities. Ensure sources of record are accurate, complete, and in alignment with controls, compliance, and retention schedules. Research market trends and benchmark competition. Ensure a positive internal and external customer experience with VMO procurement, including responsibilities to: Partner with customers to define business requirements and translate into meaningful and manageable service levels and key performance indicators. Build and sustain strong enterprise relationships, focusing on proactive and consultative customer service. Partner with internal business units to ensure sourcing and contracting activities, renewals, and amendments are proactively planned and coordinated. Plan and maintain organizational training of procurement processes and systems. Review/interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements that apply to processes and communicate accordingly to impacted business units. Collaborate with cross organizational working groups in decision-making, communications and change implementation as needed to ensure effective outcomes are reached. Deliver KPIs in accordance with internal goals and objectives to measure the ability of a service provider to service business unit and customer needs. Ensure purchase requisitions and purchase orders are accurate / complete and in compliance with established policies and procedures. Provide consultation and support for expiring / expired and termination of engagements. Act as VMO escalation point for all contract activities. Identifies and analyzes process gaps, proposing and justifying continuous improvement ideas and leading change implementation. Drive efficiencies and reduce procurement activities cycle times while maintaining compliance to policies and procedures. Review proposed process or Kaizen activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Support delivery of quality methodologies and continuous improvement efforts designed to generate productivity and cost efficiencies. Research issues and develop solutions that are beneficial to the VMO brand while maintaining compliance to policies and procedures. Take calculated risks and make decisions to fully support the desired changes.

Qualifications: B.A./B.S. degree required, JD Degree preferred. 3-4 years of experience with a law firm or in-house legal department preferred. Experience working with external suppliers is strongly desired. Ability to prioritize among competing and multiple projects and priorities with minimal direction. Ability to interface effectively and build and maintain strong relationships across multiple business units. Experience in development, negotiation, and resolution of procurement actions. Demonstrated effectiveness in collaborative partnerships with internal and external customers. Strong leadership, problem solving and negotiation skills. Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization. Continuous improvement efforts, such as Kaizen certification or Six Sigma training preferred. Self-starter and independent. Team oriented and results driven. Strong organizational skills and attention to details. Proficiency of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Outlook preferred. Experience with procurement software, such as DocuSign, RSA Archer, Service Now, and other e-Purchasing tools.
