Associate Coverage Counsel Responsibilities: Will join the corporate claims team. Provides diagnosis and analysis of assigned complex claims and the law to determine contractual obligations under the insurance policy. Will be responsible for making recommendations for disposition. Reviews assigned complex claims to determine contractual obligations. Identifies and documents controlling legal issues. Researches company to identify and analyze similar issues and recommend courses of action and completes ad hoc research projects for the Chief Claims Counsel. Draws on inductive/deductive reasoning from case law to determine the company's contractual obligations. Communicates findings via correspondence and formal legal opinions, capable of being admissible in court. Works with line leads to better understand business products in order to gain experience in dealing with coverage issues in those business lines.

Qualification Requirements: State Bar admission. Should have 4-7 years of experience, preferably in the insurance industry and law firm environment focusing on insurance coverage litigation matters. Must have the ability to diagnose, analyze and solve highly complex problems. Familiarity with the law in all 50 states and a sense for judiciary objectives in resolving contractual responsibilities. Demonstrated proficiency with computer software including current Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and applicable applications and programs.
