Director of Public Policy, North America Duties: Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to Head of Government Affairs for United States and Head of Government Affairs for Canada within the Global Government Affairs and Public Policy group with dotted line reporting relationship to the Global Head of Public Policy. Develop public policy agenda and positions in support of strategic objectives and role as a policy stakeholder in these key markets. Identify challenges and opportunities for business in developing and existing public policies through on-going effective monitoring and analysis. Provide North America regional and in-market management with timely reports and information on potential opportunities and threats as relates to the Company's short and long-term business activities and suggest solutions. Work with Government Affairs and Public Policy staff as well as with relevant global, regional and local stakeholders in order to align on priorities and solutions aimed at achieving Company s policy objectives. Ensure strong link to the business strategy both immediate and long-term via close partnership and constant dialogue with regional and local Business Units. Help establish and manage regional knowledge sharing and training on policies and advocacy best practices in the North America Business Units, including the management of a regional portal. Contribute to multi-function local, regional and global efforts to develop positions on key policy issues in close coordination with the regional GA stakeholders and the global public policy leadership. Participate in and support the work of the Global Policy Committee in identification, analysis and articulation of key common policy issues. Identify and provide strong evidence to support fact based positions; propose, develop and implement policy studies and research project to support policy developments. Stay current with developments within the pharmaceutical industry in North American markets in order to leverage industry trends in interests. Support advocacy activities in North America, as required, represent and advocate position in trade associations of pharmaceutical producers in order to raise awareness, increase familiarity, favourability and influence.

Qualifications: On-site career experience in public policy in context of healthcare and IP. Should have 3-5 years' successful professional experience. Strong policy writing skills are a perquisite. Should be a self-starter with strong organizational and administrative skills who is energized by policy analysis and development. Must have well-developed management and diplomatic skills. She Should have exceptional market-focused business judgment, strong strategic analysis and project management skills. Should be results-driven, loyal, confidential and trustworthy, open and honest. Must understand high ethical standards of the Pharmaceutical industry and be strongly committed to the mission and goals of the Company.
