Managing Intellectual Property Counsel The candidate responsibilities will include: Evaluation of invention submissions; Inventor counseling; Management of U.S. and foreign outside counsel in patent preparation and prosecution; Advising internal business clients regarding intellectual property matters, including freedom to operate clearance and opinion work; Drafting, reviewing and negotiating intellectual property related agreements and clauses. Must have JD degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association and active member in good standing of one State Bar(Texas Bar is preferred). Should have 3+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience at a reputable law firm, including foreign practices (EP and PCT). Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is required. Bachelor s degree or higher in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, other engineering or other technical field is needed. Some in-house legal experience is desired. Experience in trademark and copyright matters is helpful.
