Intellectual Property Attorney The candidate will responsible for advising a variety of internal clients on a wide range of IP matters in the context of contracts with customers and suppliers. Evaluating inventions and managing patent prosecution and trademark registration providing input on the company s IP strategy and portfolio management. Counseling on copyrights, trade secrets, and other IP matters assisting with IP-related due diligence in acquisitions and strategically educating and supporting fellow employees.
The candidate should have JD Degree from an accredited law school and licensed to practice by a State Bar. Must be admission to the patent Bar is a plus. Should have a technical Undergraduate Degree or Technical Non-Law experience is preferred. Should have 5-8 years of practice experience in IP law, preferably as an In-House Counsel for a Government contractor and representing corporations in private practice in the Government contracting space. Expertise in reviewing and negotiating software licenses, particularly advocating the buyer interests drafting, negotiating, interpreting, and advising clients on IP related agreements, such as non-disclosure agreements, licenses, and services agreements advising on technical data and patent rights issues in contracts with the US Government, with an emphasis on applicable FAR and DFARS clauses developing and implementing corporate IP strategy managing disputes and litigation involving IP and managing and supervising outside counsel who support the company in these areas. The individual will work autonomously within the IP practice area, as needed with Government contracts counsel, privacy counsel, and other Office of General Counsel professionals. Accordingly, the candidate must be self-directed and proactive, comfortable executing on multiple projects both independently and with others. Have strong interpersonal skills and be an effective communicator with the ability to work efficiently and collaboratively with other corporate departments, clients from line organizations, and external parties such as outside law firms, government counsel, and Company subcontractors and prime contractors. US Citizenship and eligibility for a Top Secret Clearance required.
