Global Privacy and Data Security Counsel The candidate will lead the legal privacy landscape at firm by partnering with business, legal, engineering, marketing and other colleagues across firm to advise on data security and privacy matters. Will drive the structure, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of firm's privacy and data governance programs globally. Champion and direct firm s efforts in addressing the dynamic data privacy regulatory landscape. Partner with the security teams to enable best practices in data security and compliance. Collaborate with colleagues to design, implement and maintain appropriate privacy consent, authorization forms and information notices and materials reflecting firm s business and legal requirements. Oversee and ensure delivery of relevant privacy awareness trainings. Build firm's compliance track record and external certifications by partnering with business and legal teams and creating and implementing privacy compliance programs, training and reviews. Partner with legal and product teams in implementing privacy by design approaches to firm's industry-leading products. Serve as lead legal business partner to firm's analytics and machine learning teams. Coordinate with senior management team in monitoring changes and trends in international data privacy and security issues, collaborate with business and legal teams on innovative internal and public policy approaches.
The candidate should have JD degree from ABA accredited university and member in good standing of the California Bar. Must have 8+ years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or corporate department. Prior in-house experience and experience working with advertising, Internet or high tech companies preferred. Expertise with privacy and data protection laws in the US and globally, and ability to advise company executives on regulatory matters, as well as assist with evaluating company compliance on privacy issues is required. Familiar with gaming and advertising business drivers a plus. Familiar with privacy and data protection laws relating to children is required.
