Attorney, Insurance Defense - Bodily Injury Duties: Will be a member of our motor vehicle insurance defense litigation team, providing legal representation to Progressive insureds and/or to the Progressive Insurance Companies before courts and arbitration panels in all aspects of litigation. Handling own cases from beginning to end, will also prepare legal pleadings, motions, statements, trial briefs and be involved in negotiating settlements. will work closely with our customers and claims team to ensure all appropriate defenses are leveraged to reach positive outcomes.

Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited law school required. Active license to practice law in Rhode Island required. Member in good standing of the RI Bar required. 1-3 years experience in civil litigation required; 5+ years preferred. Listening, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize workload working with an electronic diary. Effective as a team member or working independently. Ability to identify risk. Can work effectively with clients and customers. Ability to negotiate on behalf of clients. Capable of reviewing and assessing medical records, depositions and other documents. Time management and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Understanding of all applicable ethical duties. Ability to pay attention to detail. Capable of conducting research.
