Employment Counsel Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel Labor & Employment, the candidate will be an integral member of a highly talented specialist team, with responsibility to provide valued legal counsel across the company s businesses, staff functions and field locations in support of the company s HR strategies, priorities and operations. Provide knowledgeable and practical legal advice regarding any number of federal, state and local labor and employment law topics, including but not limited to: nondiscrimination and anti-harassment; disability law; wages, hours and pay practices; family, medical and other leaves of absence; labor law; employee non-competes; and government contractor compliance requirements. Work with clients at all levels in the organization to understand issues and priorities, apply sound legal analysis, and identify actionable solutions that meet client needs while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and the company policies. Expertly manage labor and employment-related claims, charges, and litigation in partnership with outside counsel, as needed. Lead complex, cross-functional projects supporting the company s business and HR priorities in alignment with the company s strong compliance culture. May work independently or with a more senior attorney on projects of very high impact or complexity. Formulate strategies and/or make recommendations regarding strategic matters to senior colleagues or senior management. Develop and lead training on a range of labor and employment law topics. Develop and share knowledge and best practices with colleagues in support of a collaborative and high functioning team environment. Bachelor s degree or higher from an accredited university required. Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school required. 4+ years of combined law firm and/or in-house experience specializing in labor and employment law required. Highly effective written and verbal communications skills, with an ability to communicate and relate at all levels of the organization including supervisors, business line leaders, regional heads and senior management required. Single and multi-plaintiff employment litigation experience preferred.
