Senior Legal Counsel - Employment Law Reporting to the Associate General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for the company, the candidate will work collaboratively with the company s People (Human Resources) Organization domestically and internationally across the businesses, functions and locations. Principle attorney representing the company s People Organization on employment counseling and immigration law matters. Provide practical and knowledgeable legal advice on any number of human resources/employment law topics, including: ADA, FMLA, FLSA and leave law compliance; discrimination and harassment; recruiting; non-compete and employment contract review; investigations; performance management; training; and policy development and compliance. Understanding complex issues and competing priorities to develop sound and actionable solutions that meet internal client s needs while complying with relevant law. Manage employment related claims, disputes and litigation in partnership with the People Organization and internal and external counsel. Manage outside employment and immigration legal counsel. Develop and lead training on employment law topics and policies. Strong academic credentials; Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in the State of Minnesota required. 4 7 years of employment law counseling and litigation experience, either as in house counsel or at a major law firm, and possess solid business and communication skills required. Experience with immigration and non-U.S. employment maters required. Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills required. Ability: to interact directly with internal personnel at all levels of the organization; to handle highly confidential information, exercising judgment and independent decision-making required.
