Attorney - Employment and Benefits The candidate will provide legal counsel regarding health, wellness and life management related matters. Will review legal contracts and documents. Directly, or through staff, conducts legal research. Represent the bank in legal actions. JD degree from an ABA accredited institution is needed. Admitted to State Bar in good standing is advantageous. Should have 3+ years of experience as an ERISA attorney in either a firm or in-house environment or 3 years of other relevant benefits experience. Detailed knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA requirements, and other laws and regulations governing qualified and non-qualified benefits is needed. Experience drafting, reviewing and/or revising summary plan descriptions, amendments and employee communication is advantageous. Experience handling plan participant claim appeals for benefit is essential. Some in-house experience is a plus. Prior transactional work and experience representing a public company is preferred.
