Real Estate Attorney The candidate will provide legal support and direction for the Company on real estate, land and natural resources matters. Partner with the company s legal, environmental, natural resources, transmission, regulatory, supply chain, distribution, generation and other business units to develop the company s legal strategy and response. Work with outside counsel and employees at all levels within the company to provide advice and guidance. Provide day-to-day advice and strategic planning on real estate legal matters. Negotiate with opposing counsel on various real estate legal transactions and documents. Assist with management of the legal budget and coordinate delivery of legal services from outside counsel. Strong focus on inclusion, innovative thinking, and providing excellent customer service. Identify opportunities to improve legal processes and operations. Provide oversight of real estate litigation matters. Provide accurate and timely legal support focused on the needs of the business units while ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal laws. Effectively establish and maintain relationships with internal business partners and outside legal counsel. JD from an accredited law school and 3-5 years of experience in real estate law in a large, nationally recognized law firm or corporate legal department required. Comprehensive background in real estate law and possess exceptional judgment in drafting agreements, negotiating terms and conditions, and providing sound advice on a broad range of matters required. Experience drafting, negotiating and interpreting complex agreements, and advising business units and management on the terms and conditions of business deals, is required. Experience with a variety of real estate matters such as acquisitions, sales, leases, licenses, easements, condemnations, title and survey review, and other due diligence items required. Experience dealing with energy industry issues is strongly preferred. Litigation experience is preferred. Experience leading cross-functional teams is preferred. Proven ability to foster business process improvements required. Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation and presentation skills required. Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills required.
