Corporate Legal Counsel The candidate will support its growth and expansion. The Corporate Legal Counsel serves in the capacity of legal expert for matters pertaining to developing project contracts, contractual disputes, and formal claims and litigation. Will coordinate efforts with other internal teams to propose appropriate risk management, identify critical project risk issues and make recommendations and provide summation of documents for execution. Will also develop strategies for protecting the companies interests. Will also manage and direct external legal counsel. This is an excellent opportunity to be a sole contributor in an established and successful corporation. Some travel involved. The candidate should have Law degree with a license to practice in the State of New Jersey. Should have 5-7 years of relevant legal experience, preferably including in-house employment law experience. Should have substantial litigation experience or experience managing litigation, contract review and disputes. Should have experience with internal and external investigations, including responding to administrative agency charges; Experience in analyzing non-compete/non-solicit agreements and drafting cease and desist letters; In depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations including Title VII, FEHA, Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act, EEO laws, wage and hour and other federal and local laws affecting the employer-employee relationship. Should have experience with AAPs and OFCCP audits; Demonstrate successful ability to integrate with and provide strategic counsel to Human Resources department and other internal business partners. Should have strong client-relations, interpersonal, written and oral communication and analytic skills. Should have ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally with all levels of management regarding complex employment legal issues. Should have ability to work in a fast paced environment and juggle multiple priorities and work with various stakeholders. Should have knowledge and experience with traditional labor law, particularly in the engineering and construction industry, is a plus. Should have excellent drafting, writing and analytical skills, strong attention to detail, organizational, verbal, interpersonal and project management skills.
