Environmental Attorney The candidate will be responsible for providing counseling and legal support on environmental matters including compliance assistance, interpretative guidance, and managing enforcement cases. Areas of practice will primarily include permitting and compliance counseling for light products terminals. Will entail contracts, negotiation, due diligence in acquisitions, legal research, advising clients and providing preventive law counseling. Provides professional legal advice, counsel, and guidance, as a practicing attorney at law, to assure that the Company, its assets and its activities are legally safeguarded, are in conformity with all the applicable laws and regulations and will not unduly expose the Company to litigation, penalties or claims. Advises management of the legal aspects of administrative and operational planning of the Company's activities. Plans and develops solutions to existing or potential legal problems involving the Company, and advises management concerning its legal rights and obligations. Advises the management of the Company as to the anticipated legal and other consequences of instituting, prosecuting and defending lawsuits, including arbitrations and administrative agency proceedings. Prepares and tries or supervises the preparation and trial of such lawsuits and proceedings which are instituted or defended by the Company. Coordinate and develop Company's advocacy position on future legislative and regulatory matters and participate in various Industry Trade Organizations in support of the administrative rulemaking process. Develops form contracts and other legal documents, and approves the form of all significant contractual arrangements entered into by the Company. Develops and implements programs, conducts presentations, publishes information and participates in other activities to educate Company officers and employees as to the Company's Code of Business Conduct, Company policies and procedures and legal compliance requirements. Participates in continuing legal education programs and other activities as necessary to keep informed of developments in the law, new and proposed statutes and regulations, economic and social issues and other matters of interest to the Company and the energy industry. Must have JD degree. Should have 4-10 years of pqe.
