Liability Litigation Attorney The candidate will represent the firm in the State Courts of Florida, under the supervision and direction of the Liability Litigation Managing Attorney. Defend the firm against personal injury claims in the State of Florida, including analyzing, determining, and executing all phases of litigation, from the date of suit through trial or resolution, with the aim of obtaining favorable outcomes for the firm. Analyze changes in facts, synthesizing the impact of the changes, and apply knowledge to the situation at hand. Provide support in second chair roles for high-value and unusually complex cases, where the Managing Attorney serves as the lead attorney. Support the Managing Attorney in performing strategic and operational activities required to run the firm's Litigation Counsel. Provide other litigation and legal support as assigned by the Managing Attorney.
The candidate must have a Bachelor degree and a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Should have 5+ years of litigation experience focused on tort and personal injury defense including premises liability and negligent security, a portion of which should be in south Florida. Must have experience serving as lead counsel or second chair in at least 3 trials. Bar admission and member in good standing in the State of Florida is needed. Should have in-depth, and current knowledge of State and Federal legislation, case and appellate law as related to tort and general liability litigation. Knowledge of litigation defense tactics claims evaluation, claims administration organizations, and processes, medical/dental terminology s required. Must have knowledge of the inner workings of attorney offices and various State entities. Should be proficient with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
