Senior Privacy and Compliance Attorney The candidate will passionately advocate and lead the development, implement, maintain and update a robust, mature and modern global privacy and compliance program at the company globally. Support the planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to a comprehensive global privacy program. Manage day-to-day privacy and data protection matters in the Americas (Canada and the US), in addition to assisting with global matters and initiatives as necessary. This position has day-to-day responsibility for the Americas including contract review; third party privacy reviews; managing the Privacy Shield certification; updating our privacy policies as necessary; providing support on compliance with data protection and other data-related laws and regulations; supporting IT on data security; and working with many internal corporate teams to oversee data protection compliance. As a member of the Global Compliance and Legal Risk Group provide strategic and tactical support for all compliance related programs and initiatives including: anti-corruption, export controls, fraud and anti-money laundering; compliance investigations; record management; and preparation and presentation of training programs. J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school and license to practice law required. 6-8 years of privacy, legal and compliance-related experience, preferably for a multi-national public company required. Proven knowledge and expert-level subject matter command of U.S. federal and state privacy laws and regulations and industry standards required. Knowledge of, and experience with, PIPEDA and other global privacy regulations such as the EU Data Protection Directive and GDPR also desirable. Demonstrated ability to engage business colleagues and leaders at all levels, and work with cross-organizational stakeholders and decision makers with different geographical and operational responsibilities to achieve effective and desired outcomes required. Proven track record of creative problem solving, building consensus, forging coalitions and leveraging professional relationships to achieve strategic objectives and to create an effective culture of compliance. required.
