Associate General Counsel - Privacy and Data Governance

Associate General Counsel - Privacy and Data Governance The candidate will play a critical role in shaping the emerging role of privacy technology, working collaboratively with other members of the team, other company departments and external partners to develop, oversee and manage the legal and regulatory content for the company s technology platform. Lead the review and interpretation of privacy laws, regulations, regulatory frameworks and other external standards and integrating them into the company s technology solutions. Develop and continuously improve custom privacy and data protection solutions with built-in regulatory intelligence. Develop and continuously improve regulatory rules methodologies to support the company s technology platform. Manage the company s privacy and data protection risk management methodologies and integrating them into the company s technology platform. Lead the legal analysis and associated content development for the company s partnership efforts. Support the General Counsel and Chief Data Governance Officer on novel engagements and pilot initiatives. Represent the team and the company at external privacy and data governance forums. J.D. required and licensed to practice in California or another U.S. state required. CIPP, CIPT or CIPM preferred or expected to achieve within first year in role. 8-10 years of relevant privacy leadership experience, including prior in house legal or law firm experience required. Experience building or leading a privacy program or significant components of a comprehensive privacy program required. Demonstrated: privacy, compliance or other form of operational experience translating legal and regulatory requirements into simple, practical processes and practices; ability to independently drive and timely deliver on large, multi-faceted and complex projects required. Strong: written and verbal communications skills and ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of audience types and at all levels of the organization; qualitative analytical skills with a preference for quantitative analytical skills as well; team-building and interpersonal skills required. Excellent legal and business judgment and sense of humor required.
