Associate General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer

Associate General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer The candidate will develop and implement global programs and strategies related to privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity, including advice on new products and expansion to new markets. Will partner with and advise key internal stakeholders and senior leaders on compliance with global privacy, data security, and cybersecurity requirements. Support the company s legal and compliance activities related to privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity, including managing outside counsel, leading internal privacy coordinator teams, and developing relevant policies and procedures with privacy and compliance policy development, including roadblocks for privacy and information security laws as the company develops new products and expands in developing markets. Draft policies in alignment with the legal team and counsel; present those findings to senior leaders and the operating committee. Review and advise on privacy and data protection requirements in vendor and related contracts. Review marketing and other external communications from a privacy law perspective. Develop and enhance improve existing trainings regarding data privacy regulations, cyber security, and employee privacy. Reduce risk and exposure by driving preparedness and new privacy policies to support compliance with new or changing regulatory standards, including the EU GDPR. Monitor and assess the impact of legal and regulatory developments and enforcement trends at state, federal, and international levels.security regulations; partner with the IT and Risk teams to ensure alignment and consider counsel. Develop and improve existing trainings regarding data privacy regulations, cyber security, and employee privacy. Partner with Information Security, Risk, and other functions in connection with cyber breach notification and response, including drafting and revising related policies and procedures. JD degree from a top law school with exceptional academic credentials and 7-10 years of relevant experience gained at a leading law firm and/or in-house at a publicly-traded company is needed. Should have 7-10 years of experience with privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity corporate policies and privacy matters. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a broad range of corporate experience, including all aspects of privacy and policy issues. Some background in finance, a leading law firm and/or in-house at a publicly-traded company is a must. Must be admitted, active and in good standing withwith a state the New York State Bar.
