Construction And Capital Projects Counsel

Construction and Capital Projects Counsel The candidate will assist in project planning, including the development of scope of services and process requirements for construction and capital projects. Will Do development and review of RFIs, EOIs, RFQs, RFPs, MSAs, and other required procurement types from inception to award, to project completion, including architectural/engineering agreements, various construction procurement agreements and other related professional services. Review and advise on construction bid packages. Development (strategy, drafting and negotiation) of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) and related construction, procurement and professional services contracts. Assist in the development and review of construction modifications, change orders, contract amendments, cancellations and terminations. Development and refinement of standard project and legal documentation for various engineering, design, procurement, construction and construction management activities. Support claims prevention and management, as well as claims initiatives, for capital projects and construction matters, including managing claims and pre-litigation dispute resolution matters. Assist in overall construction and capital project governance and management. Assist in development and implementation of a comprehensive, multijurisdictional construction and capital projects governance, management and training program. Proactively identify and prioritize legal risks and mitigation strategies. Research and advise on construction law issues as required The candidate should have 10 - 15 years of experience. Law firm experience with some in-house experience is preferred. Must have good commercial mindset with significant construction and capital projects experience, preferably with experience representing owners. Combination of domestic and international experience is preferred. Strong organizational and interpersonal skill is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence is essential. Spanish language skills and manufacturing industry experience are a plus
