Senior Corporate Counsel DUTIES: Conduct and manage internal investigations concerning potential fraud and abuse allegations. Handle and coordinate responses to inquiries from government regulators and investigators. Provide legal advice to senior management on fraud and abuse matters. Participate as a member of litigation team and manage outside counsel for civil and criminal fraud litigation matters. Conduct compliance exit interviews and follow-up investigations. Responsible for development of internal processes and reporting. Support the business through general legal counseling on compliance related matters in a wide range of complex legal issues. Manage departmental metrics. Lead special projects. Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed. Know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures. QUALIFICATIONS: JD Degree required. License to practice law in a minimum of one state required. 4 years ?¢ practicing legal experience required. Previous experience with healthcare fraud and abuse prevention laws; Medicare and Medicaid billing and reimbursement requirements; and compliance issues for healthcare providers strongly preferred. Previous experience conducting white collar internal investigations preferred. Previous prosecution or civil litigation experience with federal or state government preferred. Previous criminal or civil litigation experience preferred. Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required. Professional presence and excellent presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities appropriately in an evolving work environment with shifting time frames. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team, facilitate effective team interactions, and to foster a positive work environment; willingness to assist teammates in order to achieve departmental goals. Demonstrated strengths in organizational, attention-to-detail, follow-through, reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Strong analytical skills with the ability to seek underlying assumptions through probing, questioning, and listening. Demonstrated proficiency in consultative skills when addressing inquiries. Demonstrated ability to work effectively at both detail and big-picture levels and to drive projects forward. Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt easily to a fast-paced, changing environment and to follow through on tasks and assignments. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality concerning information accessed. Ability to proactively identify and analyze issues in the workplace and identify and implement solutions collaboratively. Demonstrated networking skills and ability to initiate, drive, and leverage relationships with other teams.
