Director, Assistant General Counsel - Privacy and Financial Crime Protection Duties: Provide timely, accurate and cost-effective legal advice. Review and analyze new products and services. Brief executives on risks, concerns, risk mitigation strategies, and resource prioritization decisions. Analyze and interpret complex proposed laws and regulations impacting business units and assist in devising strategies that limit risk while meeting business goals and objectives. Provide information about trends and issues. Provide legal support in anticipation of and during supervisory exams and audits, including drafting or reviewing responses as necessary. Engage with industry trade associations to ensure concerns and priorities are reflected in association efforts.

Qualifications: JD Degree and membership in good standing in at least one state Bar. 5+ years of legal experience. Preferred: 7 years of legal experience. Previous government or in-house experience is a plus. Enthusiasm for legal issues involving technology. Knowledge about applicable federal and state laws, including familiarity with administrative law; Understanding of a wide variety of technology areas. Ability to identify risks and offer solutions to novel legal issues; Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, and follow through and meet deadline; Ability to provide innovative and well-grounded advice, balancing regulatory risks and business needs, particularly in situations where the law is unclear. Effective oral and written communication skills; Consensus builder; Ability to create friendly and collaborative working relationships; A good sense of humor is a plus. Enthusiasm to raise the bar and improve experiences with teammates and stakeholders; An ownership mentality wants to add value outside of the day-to-day expectations of the role. Can demonstrate sound judgment even in novel situations, and can understand business goals in a way that helps evaluate risk effectively and provide practical legal advice; Ability to think strategically and give practical advice appropriately balancing legal, pragmatic and business-focused objectives.
