Associate Counsel Trade Compliance The candidate will report directly to the Senior Counsel for Corporate Global Trade Compliance. Managing and conducting investigations regarding potential policy and regulatory trade violations. Drafting and editing voluntary disclosures regarding regulatory trade violations. Managing process- and policy-related initiatives, such as policy development/modification and voluntary disclosure process improvements, by providing substantive input, generating data to support initiatives, drafting policies, leading stakeholder meetings. Partners with Corporate GTC Senior Manager to drive closure of various types of corrective actions in response to violations, such as policy modifications. Partners with Corporate GTC Audit Manager to manage audit, assessment, and compliance monitoring activities by developing relevant plans and protocols, managing staff, and assessing identified gaps. Advising business unit Global Trade personnel on regulatory interpretations and export processes. Conducting and supporting training initiatives on various trade compliance matters, including company s policy requirements.
The candidate should have Juris Doctorate degree from a top law school and 4-6 years of relevant law firm or in-house experience. Must have active membership in a state Bar. Experience in internal investigations, voluntary disclosures, and internal audits and assessments required. Knowledge in U.S. import and export regulations and experience working with the U.S. government agencies that administer those regulations. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to draft voluntary disclosures and other submissions to the U.S. Government. Organizational skills, with a meticulous attention to detail are must.
