Senior Legal Counsel, International Employment Law

Senior Legal Counsel, International Employment Law The candidate will provide advice on a full range of international employment law issues, including hiring, discipline, grievances, workplace investigations, redundancies, compensation and benefits, and collective consultation processes. Will draft employment agreements, separation, severance and retention agreements and other employment documentation primarily relating to an employee population based outside of the United States. Review and provide guidance on drafting and development of international HR policies and procedures. Provide advice and counsel in the area of global mobility, expatriate and international assignments and global immigration matters. Provide initial advice to HR on employee data privacy issues and coordinate with global data privacy teams as required. Lead or provide assistance with international HR / compliance investigations and provide guidance on Works Councils and Trade Union matters as required. Defend, supervise and manage employment-related claims and litigation, including managing outside counsel and responding to administrative charges, complaints, legal letters, settlement demands and claims globally. Negotiate appropriate resolutions to claims and other pending matters. Provide support to maintain, determine and / or remediate legal compliance issues impacting the company's global operations from an overall employment law, compensation and benefits perspective. Assist in developing, implementing, improving and reviewing international legal compliance projects and training. Assist with preparing or conducting training programmes. Review and provide input on policies, procedures and issues impacted by legislation affecting the company's international operations. ssist and support all aspects of international and cross-border M&A activities as they relate to employment matters.

The candidate should be Qualified lawyer with 4-6 years of post qualification experience however all periods of relevant prior experience will be considered. Must have significant global / regional experience is a key differentiator as well as a primary focus on employment law. Prior in-house experience as well as working for a global, matrixed organisation would be ideal.
