CA Program Attorney/Manager, Compliance The candidate will coordinate all phases of program planning and execution for California based programs with emphasis on developing new Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs that will be targeted to the west coast legal community. Provide leadership and direction to the employees of the SF office. Develop and maintain relationships with the legal community in California (locally and in other parts of the state) to support the stability and growth of firm s west coast presence. Responsible for working with volunteer speaker Chairs to develop program schedules, identify and recruit volunteer faculty, and achieve all program objectives in a timely and efficient matter while professionally handling/minimizing issues or conflict. Work with volunteer faculty to develop the best marketing copy to describe the program, as well as the materials for the program. Work with the New York based Marketing Department in the development of an overall marketing plan; suggest marketing outlets, target audiences and marketing lists, including ideas for the use of social media. Responsible for meeting all deadlines in submitting marketing and course materials. Establish, build and maintain relationships with key PLI employees in New York, including the members of the senior management team. Responsible for developing and adhering to an annual budget for the SF office. Generate additional revenue based on established goals by growing the number of rental opportunities for the conference center space. Stay abreast of current developments in the California legal market through the use of current sources of news and information and legal authorities, working with program chairs, faculty, and advisory committees; use program evaluations, surveys, focus groups and other data to ensure complete and timely topical coverage of area(s) assigned. Ensure that San Francisco office is operating in compliance with local employment and business operation laws. Liaise with New York based Human Resources department with regard to compliance and employee relations issues. Other duties, as assigned. Should have D. and 4-6 years of combined work experience in law, management, CLE program design and coordination. Member of the California Bar; Knowledge of California legal services industry required. Must have familiarity with California based law firms and legal departments. Knowledge of current California legal issues and trends is required. Previous experience managing small to mid-size business operations highly preferred.
