Corporate Counsel The candidate will be providing legal advice and assistance to management. Assist in preparing and negotiating documents which accurately convey the company s intent. Coordinating work of outside legal counsel and providing legal counsel to management within the company with the advice and assistance of more experienced counsel. Analyzing and summarizing complicated legal documents, including contracts, and making suggestions for alterations of those documents. Negotiating with outside parties on contractual issues and legal disputes, including settlement conferences. Drafting contracts, real estate documents, government or regulatory applications, etc. Anticipating and mitigating potential legal problems within the organization and developing strategies to avoid costly litigation and reduce potential areas of risk. Solving problems in a practical manner, asking questions and learning new things. Working in a variety of areas of the law, with a variety of business stakeholders, particularly in the renewable industry
The candidate must have 3-8 years of legal experience in an in-house or law firm setting. Experience or interest in renewable energy as well as legal areas such as transactional work, safety and/or litigation is helpful. Should have Undergraduate Degree; Juris Doctor Degree from a U.S. law school; Qualification as a lawyer in the United States and a member of the bar of the State Bar of the Illinois (or capable to be admitted by way of reciprocity).
