Legal Counsel and Data Privacy Officer The candidate will support firm s North American businesses primarily in the areas of data privacy and regulatory. Will work on providing data protection and privacy legal expertise, guidance and direct support for operational execution and compliance with US based legal, regulatory and business data protection and privacy requirements, such as HIPAA and state specific requirements. Assists in the implementation and coordination of legal policies, procedures and training. Identifies, creates and implements best practices around data protection, privacy, and security. Pursues continuous education on developments in the law relating to company business and conduct. Integrates with the business to provide sound, practical guidance and solutions. Must have Juris Doctorate degree from accredited law school. Licensed attorney is essential. 5 -7 years legal experience is essential. Previous experience in healthcare or medical device company is preferred. Familiarity with HIPAA, Breach Notification laws, ISO and other standards bodies and international standards is a plus. Knowledge of and experience providing legal advice and business solutions relating to US data protection and privacy laws and regulations, with specific expertise relating to HIPAA and State requirements is essential. Experience providing regulatory review and guidance around Ad/Promo review is essential.
