Privacy Legal Counsel, Ring The candidate will advise on privacy and regulatory compliance for Ring business. Will support firm's senior management, technology and engineering, marketing, customer support, business development, sales, supply chain, and information security teams. Will be advising on global privacy law compliance, including with respect to data protection, data retention, data security, and data breach rules. Drafting privacy policies (including for non-U.S. countries), FAQs and communications, implementing appropriate processes applicable to the foregoing and continually updating such policies as needs of the business evolve and as there are changes in laws and regulations. Responsibility for the continued development of Ring s privacy strategy and compliance framework, developing and communicating controls, policies and procedures, performing risk assessments, monitoring ongoing compliance and overseeing the intersection of privacy and data security in collaboration with the information security team. Advising appropriate stakeholders on compliance matters across all aspects of U.S. and, where applicable, international privacy laws and regulations, including data protection, retention, use/sharing, security and breach rules, as well as required privacy notices, regulatory filings and relevant process and infrastructure requirements, as applicable. Staying up-to-date on, and advising on potential business impact, of proposed changes to applicable privacy, data security, consumer protection, marketing and related laws and regulations. Working closely with personnel at supported business operations, and obtaining and maintaining a strong knowledge of the products and objectives of those operations. Conducting employee trainings on relevant matters, such as privacy, data protection and records management. In addition, duties include providing support to the business on other legal matters on an as-needed basis, including reviewing commercial agreements and other ordinary course items. Some travel, domestic and international, is required. The candidate should have J.D. degree and membership in one State Bar. Must have 6+ years of attorney experience advising on privacy law and data security legal matters. Must have 3+ years of experience in a national or international law firm. Prior in-house experience preferred.
