Associate Attorney - Real Estate

Associate Attorney - Real Estate The candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal counsel to Senior Leaders including Executive Counsel for an operating area or staff agency within firm. Will respond to needs of the business unit by identifying and analyzing complex and unique legal issues and provide resolution for these legal matters. Ensures the company's activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws. Responsible for identifying and managing legal risk in association with firm's Risk Appetite and provide strategic direction. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works independently on matters of significance to the organization and has in-depth, expert knowledge in specific type of law, and/or the proven ability to lead teams to resolve complex issues. May work with outside counsel. Independently providing legal counsel to manage and proactively address legal and regulatory risk in the real estate lending and real estate brokerage divisions, including, the marketing platforms. Provide legal advice to Real Estate Rewards Network, including marketing initiatives, program expansion and state regulatory matters, including regulatory inquiries. Provide legal support for the implementation and maintenance of a digital mortgage origination channel, primarily from a marketing, social media and application support perspective. Perform analysis on and assist with implementing federal/state law changes relating to real estate and real estate lending business units. Assist on a project basis with supporting 1st Line of Defense with implementing consumer, real estate and fair lending laws and regulations. The candidate should have JD degree from an accredited law school. Must have 2+ years experience practicing law interpreting the Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the state laws governing the marketing and origination of real estate secured loans, with an emphasis on marketing and real estate brokerage activities. Should be Admitted to and an active member in good standing of the Bar in at least one state or territory. Should preferably have experience in the following areas of real estate and mortgage lending laws and regulations: Marketing, marketing relationships, real estate brokerage, social media, digital mortgage applications and origination activities. Prior experience maintaining disclosure libraries and in in dealing with marketing database programs is preferred.
