In House Counsel - Contracts Specialist

In House Counsel - Contracts Specialist The candidate will be responsible for ensuring continuous best-practice compliance and improvement within firm. Support a diverse team of technical, sales, and project management professionals, providing guidance on contract obligations and associated risks. Analyze, revise, and support negotiation of terms and conditions with customers and suppliers for custom manufactured products and services in accordance with established legal parameters. Interact with internal and external customers throughout the contract review process to develop and maintain good relationships. Manage and resolve all customer disputes, litigation, bankruptcy, and employee, agency, distributor, sales representative, and contractor agreements as assigned. Assist International Trade Compliance Officer in drafting and preparing appropriate documents/licenses and permit applications to meet governmental requirements and business needs. Partner with internal customers to implement export controls and international trade compliance. Research, track, and analyze law, legislation, regulations, and policies applicable to firm business in assigned area of subject matter expertise. Develop and share best practices, work processes, systems and tools, based on experience gained in a portfolio of independent projects. Prepare general corporate and commercial legal documents as assigned and perform other general paralegal functions. Coordinate and assist in employee training regarding contracts and compliance matters. Support, cooperate with, and participate in company-wide LEAN and EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures. Support and cooperate in company-wide Quality Management effort. The candidate must have Bachelors degree and experience in corporate setting. Should have 5+ years of contracts negotiation/administration experience (warranty, indemnity, etc.). Corporate legal experience and/or paralegal qualifications are encouraged to apply. Proficiency with office systems and Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is needed. Fully fluent in English; fluency in Spanish is a plus.
