Part-time Senior Counsel - Labor and Employment The candidate provides legal advice to management in various areas of labor and employment law. Represents the company in mediations, regulatory agency investigations, audits and hearings. Supervises the Company s Ethics Hotline, reviews internal investigations related to Hotline matters, and conducts sensitive internal investigations. Liaisons with Human Resources developing company policies and procedures. Provides strategic advice on human resource and business initiatives. Helps lead the company in its compliance with labor and employment laws and regulations. Creates solutions to mitigate labor/employment legal risks. Manages defense of employment discrimination, harassment and similar claims and works with outside counsel, where necessary, to resolve claims. Counsels HR, Operations and other personnel on FMLA, ADAAA, and other employment law compliance. Provides training in substantive areas of employment law. Manages people, processes, budgets, performance management, compliance activities, and associate and paralegal development as required by the job. Understands and demonstrates firm s Core Values. Performs other duties as assigned.

The candidate must have Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. Admitted to the Illinois Bar is essential. Must have 8+ years prior legal experience. Prior in-house experience is preferred. Experience counseling clients on employment and labor laws issues, including to, federal and state laws on discrimination and harassment, ADAAA, reductions in force, ADEA and OWBPA, wage and hour laws, leaves of absence including FMLA, ADAAA, and related state laws, non-compete and non-solicitation laws is essential. Knowledge of Affirmative Action Plan requirements and implementation is essential. Strong track records of developing and implementing corporate policies is essential. Experience in conducting investigations, drafting responses to administrative charges, developing and implementing policies and procedures, preparing and negotiating settlements agreements, and managing employment litigation is essential. rocess improvement skill is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skill is essential. Experience with the intersection of workers compensation law and employment law is a plus
