Privacy and Records Counsel The candidate will advise and support deal lawyers and global procurement negotiators with customer, partner and supplier negotiations and participate in the negotiations as needed. Will develop, maintain and update contracting tools, templates and guidance for lawyers and contracts professionals. Support the CPO, Privacy Office team and lawyers in advising the business and global functions on all aspects of privacy and data protection. Advise on privacy risk governance including privacy impact assessments. Advice on privacy and security incidents including notifications to regulators and individuals Support HPE s privacy compliance program including GDPR, Binding Corporate Rules, APEC CBPR and the development of new policies, standards and training. Support the design, management and implementation of key privacy compliance projects.. Present and/or represent the company at external conferences or events and support engagement with regulators, industry groups and think tanks. Advise and support the HPE Records and Information Management Team, records officers and business on the records retention schedule (including exception approvals) and legislative changes. Conduct ad hoc and annual compliance risk assessments. Conduct SOX statement sign-off. Support records incidents including risk review and reporting Support M&A activity including due diligence, contract negotiation, integration or divesture activity. Manage Outside Counsel Support engagement and negotiation of contracts with records vendors The candidate should have 3-5 years of post qualification privacy experience in a law firm or in-house, CIPP qualification preferred. Experience of IT services/products business and the GDPR preferred. Mastery in English is essential. Proven expertise in European data protection law. Experience in global privacy laws desirable. Experience in records law desirable. Should have strong analytical, risk assessment and problem solving skills to be able to quickly understand and effectively support complex business initiatives and compliance projects. Strong negotiation and drafting skill is essential. Excellent research and written skill is essential. Excellent verbal and presentation skills, particularly the ability to communicate with credibility and confidence.
