Litigation and Employment Law Attorney RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide counsel to General Counsel, Human Resource professionals and other members of management regarding the management and handling of all labor and employment related matters in the company, including but not limited to, wage and hour law, employee benefits, workers compensation, unemployment, state and federal agency claims, FMLA matters, and the terms of various collective bargaining agreements. Identify and assess legal risks and opportunities within the labor and employment area and provide advice on risk mitigation strategies. Will assist Employee Relations and other investigative authorities within the Company. Will prepare for and conduct any arbitrations or hearings resulting from the development, interpretation and enforcement of Company related policies and programs, grievances of represented employees, and Company labor practices. Will obtain and maintain proficiency in current legal procedures and relevant substantive statutory, regulatory and case law. Will supervise, manage and evaluate relationships with outside counsel in accordance with the Companys litigation management plan. Will independently handle legal matters and projects ranging from basic to complex and recognize when to elevate certain matters to the attention of the General Counsel. Will establish and maintain relationships, credibility and trust with members of management, company stakeholders, legal team members and other colleagues. Qualifications: JD Degree from an ABA accredited law school with 2-12 years post-JD legal experience in labor and employment law. Must be knowledgeable of, have actual experience with, or have demonstrated capability of learning and practicing labor law and employment law with a high degree of competence.
