Legal Counsel - Employment Law The candidate will independently perform a full range of employment and other legal services as assigned and provide support to senior attorneys as requested. Will work closely with domestic and international Human Resources and Legal colleagues to address a variety of international issues, including but not limited to, hiring, dismissal, compensation plan changes and other change management, pay equity and overtime compliance, works councils/trade unions issues, and other global issues which may arise. This includes an ability to efficiently manage international outside counsel. Work closely with Employee Relations Manager and Human Resource Directors, Managers, and Business Partners to advise on compliance with federal and state employment laws, including but not limited to, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, FMLA, and Title VII, as they pertain to all aspects of employment from recruiting to dismissal. Provide regular consultation and advice on Human Resources compliance matters such as Immigration, Contingent Workers, Records Retention, Diversity, OSHA, OFCCP, and other Federal Contractor obligations. Assist in all aspects of employment and workers compensation litigation and provide additional assistance on other non-employment litigation matters as needed. Identify and assist in necessary project completion, including but not limited to, policy and process edits and development as needed, throughout the company. Support other functions within the company as needed including payroll, security, healthcare, daycare, work life, corporate services, procurement, and related entities of SAS.

The candidate should have JD Degree from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law by being admitted to and a member in good standing of at least one State Bar. If not a member of the North Carolina Bar, be qualified for admission to the North Carolina Bar within the first year of employment. Must have experience with employment law. Should preferably have Licensed to practice law in North Carolina. Experience working with senior management in either public or private corporations is preferred. Experience working with international employment issues, in particular, with works councils and global change management is preferred. Litigation experience in the area of employment law is preferred.
