Senior Staff Counsel Investigations and Compliance

Senior Staff Counsel Investigations and Compliance The candidate will lead and conduct internal investigations and review deviations from policies, procedures and the Code of Conduct & Business Ethics brought forward from the Alertline as well as other avenues. Will provide guidance to personnel assigned to perform investigations relating to compliance with the Fiserv Code of Conduct & Business Ethics and other policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements. Provide guidance and assistance on international compliance investigations as needed. Work directly with internal and external legal counsel in complex investigations providing both subject matter expertise and internal management to ensure timely completion and documentation. Collaborating with legal counsel to assist with regulatory inquiries, investigations, arbitrations and litigation. Ensure the timely, thorough and professional investigation of concerns, specifically including the more complex, higher-risk matters, in a manner consistent with the Company s culture, values, policies and procedures. Analyze correspondence received from various parties (clients, attorneys, regulatory agencies, authorized individuals, etc.) to identify complaints, assess risk, and determine appropriate response to same. Communicate and/or propose corrective actions or remediation based on the findings of an investigation. Reviews all investigation reports, recommendations and conclusions. Updates procedures relating to investigations. Provides training regarding investigations. Manage and assist in the developing, implementing and training on the Investigation Procedures. Assists in intake and analysis of new reports, including identifying potential legal and policy issues, and recommending appropriate investigators. Identifies gaps in the company s policies, procedures, and training that become apparent during investigations, and participates in corrective action discussions. Law degree in good standing with a state Bar with 7+ years of experience is needed. Proven successful investigation/project management in developing and executing all phases of an investigation plan including: collection, review and analysis of data, information and records; conducting interviews; documenting work completed; drafting findings and conclusions; accountability for successful completion is needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills that are effective with the appropriate tact and diplomacy for all levels of the organization as well as for outside counsel is needed. Strong, independent ethical decision making with a demonstrated dedication to integrity and compliance; leads by example in cultivating the culture of compliance is essential.
