Assistant Counsel - Regulatory Compliance and Privacy The candidate will provide counsel to management and assists in the planning and directing of all aspects of the organization's legal affairs to ensure maximum protection of company liability and risk. Will assist in the ongoing administration and maintenance of organizational wide policy and procedures specific to privacy and protected information which may include health information while working to ensure continued compliance with federal, state, and other ex-U.S. data privacy laws and practices..Advise internal business partners and organizational management with respect to legal issues to ensure maximum protection of the company..Undertake and assume a key role in multiple department led projects and bring them to a prompt efficient resolution. Provide full support for existing regulatory compliance programs and processes through research and review of emerging legislation and regulation. Aid, and support the implementation and maintenance of policies and processes specific to regulatory compliance. Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements. Demonstrate Company's Core Competencies and values held within. Aid in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's privacy policies and procedures through the provision of regulatory guidance and counsel. Aid in the assessment of risk and impact specific to the organization's privacy program. Collaborate amongst key organization stakeholders to ensure continued legal and regulatory compliance. Support the development and delivery of privacy training to organizational team members and applicable third parties. Assess and report on the impact of contractual and regulatory privacy and security requirements in relation to business practices. Aid and provide counsel to internal and external parties in the assurance of consistent compliance and application of sanctions for failure to comply with privacy policies. Develop, implement and ensure continuing maintenance of repeatable processes specific to the organization's privacy policies remain compliant. Ensure procedures to address the potential release of protected health information is fully addressed and documented. Collaborate amongst internal stakeholders to support the standardization, analysis, preparation, drafting, and/or negotiation of pertinent aspects of privacy-related provisions within client, vendor and other third party agreements. Develop and maintain subject matter knowledge specific to federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards. Provide consultation to senior management in regards to policy and procedural changes as needed to ensure continued regulatory compliance. Serve as the initial point of contact for concerns specific to privacy compliance for all departments and other entities. Ensure all concerns are addressed and brought to resolution in an efficient timely manner. Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.

The candidate should have Juris Doctorate degree. Must have 2 years' legal practice experience to include a background in healthcare and/or other related fields such as contracting, regulatory compliance or privacy. Other required licensures, professional certifications, and/or Board certifications as applicable.
