Corporate Counsel (Pharmacist) The candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and recommendations to management and field leadership within a variety of business units regarding matters of various complexity which may have an impact on business activities, particularly with respect to pharmacy operations. Deals directly with routine legal matters and supports other, more senior professionals, in providing legal advice and recommendations to executives and senior management. Generally focuses on applying knowledge of one or more legal specialties while leveraging pharmacy experience to develop a deeper understanding of the business operations of the company. Conducts factual and legal research, negotiates consent orders and settlement agreements with government agencies, develops legal strategy in support of various business initiatives and prepares responses to regulatory enforcement actions and discovery. Generally receives specific direction from management, Legal Division Leadership or more senior law professionals as to the outcomes, processes and schedules expected. Collaborates with the business units in order to achieve corporate objectives and mitigate unnecessary risks. Researches legal principles and precedents, engages and manages outside counsel, drafts legal documents, gathers relevant case related information using multiple sources and methods, provides work guidance to paraprofessional and support staff in developing solutions to problems presented. Develops fluency and expertise in legal concepts that impact the work performed. Generally focuses on applying knowledge of one or more legal specialties while leveraging pharmacy experience to develop a deeper understanding of the business operations of the company. Must have 3+ years of post-Bar legal experience in a law firm, government agency or corporate setting. Should also have 3+ years of pharmacy experience in retail, hospital, specialty or long-term care. Active license as a registered pharmacist as granted by an appropriate state board of pharmacy is required. Application Deadline: 23 January, 2019.
