Department Description Motorola s Software Enterprise organization is a fast paced organization at the front line of driving growth throughout Motorola Solutions. The Business Operations and Transformation team is chartered to define and drive implementation of our growth strategies across the Software Enterprise portfolio. In addition to partnering with Software Enterprise employees, we also work with all functions of the company, including sales, CTO, corporate strategy, MSI ventures, and corporate development. The Business Operations and Transformation team has launched Software Enterprise Regulatory & Compliance Organization which will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective compliance programs to ensure the Software Enterprise business successfully complies with all of applicable laws, standards and policies with respect to its operations as a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier and data privacy as the provider of hosted, cloud-based and on premise applications that access, transmit, process and/or store data protected by privacy laws. Job Description Maintain expertise in global data and privacy laws and advise on the impact to SE as well as implications with respect to compliance activities -Provide proactive and creative legal guidance to facilitate launch of new and innovative technologies while ensuring all privacy and data protection risks are properly mitigated -Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues -Advise on privacy and data security provisions of customer, vendor and other third party contracts -Review business activities of SE as a Processor and Controller of data for compliance with laws, policies, and best practices; make recommendations with respect to same and implement -Key leader in driving data-mapping activities within SE -Draft policies and procedures related to privacy and data protection applicable to SE and coordinate with DPO in connection with same. -Develop and provide training to company personnel regarding privacy, security and other compliance best practices and obligations -Develop internal controls and conduct periodic self-assessments to ensure SE is meeting its data protection obligations and standards -Review business activities of SE as a Processor and Controller of data for compliance with law, policy, and best practices; make recommendations with respect to same and implement -Be responsible for data protection impact assessments and records of processing activities for GDPR. -Support security and other teams in responding to any data security incident responses -Engage with privacy regulators as may be required -Coordination and timely completion of any statutory reporting obligations -Provide reports as directed or requested to keep senior management, DPO and other groups informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts. -Minimum 10 years of work experience as an attorney for private law firm and/or as in-house counsel; direct experience working on privacy matters is required. -CIPP/US and CIPM certifications strongly preferred -Working knowledge of global data and privacy laws and standards, including but not limited to HIPAA, HITECH, CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, EU directives on electronic commerce, data retention and law enforcement, CPNI (state and federal), FIPS Publication 140 and NIST standards.
