Director, Data Privacy Counsel The candidate will provide privacy-related legal support and advice on US commercial, patient support services, advertising, marketing, and digital privacy related matters, and develop related training and policies, guidelines and procedures for monitoring internal compliance. Will provide privacy-related legal support on commercial, patient support services, advertising/marketing, digital and information technology US privacy issues including application of HIPAA and other US privacy laws to patient support services and specialty pharmacy arrangements, website and mobile privacy disclosures, HIPAA de-identification, data analytics/big data, data breaches, and emerging online technologies. Support business/transactional counsel with the review and negotiation of privacy language with vendors as needed, particularly in connection with third-party hubs for patient support services and data sharing/purchase arrangements. Manage outside counsel on privacy issues, particularly those related to patient support services, as needed. Create and implement policies and procedures related to commercial, patient support services, and advertising/marketing privacy issues within the respective business operations. Review company practices for compliance with US privacy and data protection laws, as well as company policy. Develop procedures for monitoring compliance with US data protection regulations and internal policies, particularly with regard to commercial, patient support services, advertising/marketing, and digital issues, within the respective business operations. Conduct privacy risk assessments as needed. Partner with respective business operations to implement remediation measures as needed. Develop and conduct appropriate privacy trainings within the respective business operations and ensure competency. Work with other members of the firm's Privacy Team to develop procedures for management of 3rd party vendors with access to firm's personal information in compliance with US privacy and data protection laws and regulations. Ensure up-to-date knowledge of latest trends in privacy in assigned area. Provide support to and share experiences across US Privacy team and legal functions, as needed.

The candidate should have Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or equivalent Law Degree. Must have 5+ years of legal counselling experience, including US privacy and data protection experience, preferably from within a major international law firm or multi-national corporation. Should preferably have experience working with health data and knowledge of how it is shared and transferred among different HC related entities. Must have strong knowledge of Patient Support programs and issues within the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledge of the US privacy and data protection laws with a focus on HIPAA and related US privacy regulations is required. Strong track record of identifying potential privacy risks/ issues and developing business-friendly solutions is required. Strong experience in designing and implementing effective training programs is required.
