Senior Corporate Counsel The candidate will have principal responsibility to provide legal support to Blackstone portfolio companies and to Revantage on legal issues and projects that span the breadth of commercial real estate transactions. Being an astute and business oriented attorney is a key component of the position. Work with Blackstone asset managers, outside counsel, and portfolio company deal teams to create and implement a standardized approach for outside counsel and deal teams to follow for the acquisition and disposition of assets. Oversee outside counsel on commercial real estate transactions from inception to post-closing. Work closely with outside counsel on all transactions. Based on the size of a transaction and deal complexity, select counsel from a preferred list of law firms, to deploy for each transaction. Provide outside counsel with rules of engagement, to include instructions on the scope of work for the engagement, timeline for deliverables, and review letters of engagement. Oversee outside counsel in the negotiation of loan documents with attention to representations, warranties and covenants. Confer with business partners as to impact of covenants on operational matters. Expertise in commercial leasing is essential, including industrial, office or retail assets. Work closely with in-house attorneys, outside counsel, corporate departments, paralegals and field personnel on real estate-related matters. Draft and negotiate a variety of other commercial and corporate contracts, including confidentiality agreements, vendor contracts, consulting agreements and license agreements. Coordinate with the corporate team on corporate matters, LLC agreements, and investment documents as they relate to real estate matters.

The candidate should have 8 years of relevant experience and a solid complex transactional real estate practice background. Must have significant experience within multiple areas of commercial real estate law, including acquisitions and dispositions, development, financing, and joint ventures. Prior experience in-house and in a large or mid-sized law firm with a sophisticated commercial real estate practice is required. Substantial experience in acquisitions and dispositions in more than one of the following asset classes is critical: hotels, office buildings, shopping centers, multi-family complexes, industrial, and senior living facilities. Must have strong drafting, communication, organization and problem-solving skills. Should have knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
