Associate General Counsel, Vice President - Litigation Duties: Manage the Companys global litigation portfolio, covering a wide variety of disputes including, but not limited to, product liability (individual and collective actions), complex commercial, and employment. Provide strategic litigation oversight to support the Companys business objectives, identify and manage risks to the Company, and serve as trusted advisor and business partner to senior leadership by providing counsel on a broad range of legal and strategic matters. Anticipate issues and provide legal perspective and advice that enables management to make informed business decisions. Develop and deliver tailored client training programs to specific client groups. Assist in the identification, selection and management of outside counsel to ensure legal services are rendered to the Company that are results-oriented, timely, pragmatic, and cost efficient. Effectively lead a team of in-house attorneys and paraprofessional staff located in Warsaw, IN, including effectively managing respective workloads and ensuring job satisfaction. Strategically manage and supervise the Companys global litigation portfolio to ensure effective representation and optimal litigation results. Portfolio includes a wide array of disputes including, but not limited to, complex commercial, product liability (individual and collective/mass tort), employment and class action. Assignment of appropriate in-house attorney, paralegal and outside counsel to various litigation matters, including regular communication with assigned attorneys to maintain familiarity with litigation portfolio and provide ongoing oversight and guidance on case strategy. Regularly report to Company senior management about significant claim activity and material case status and strategy. In collaboration with VP, Deputy General Counsel and Companys Finance Planning & Accounting groups, help develop and manage litigation budgets and attempt to identify efficiencies and cost savings where possible. Expected Areas of Competence Develops close working relationships with clients in which corporate goals and priorities are maintained without compromising legal integrity. Contributes to a high performance culture through effective communication and leadership with management, marketing, clinical trial teams and other business functions. Works cooperatively with peers to leverage skills and knowledge within the legal division. Experience successfully managing a team of lawyers and/or paraprofessionals. Communicates effectively to a diverse audience, at multiple levels within the Company, through various formats, i.e. presentations, written proposals, reports, correspondence, leading meetings, face-to-face dialogue, etc. Organization and communication skills are required to ensure the efficient and accurate delivery of services to the company. Understanding of public policy and healthcare industry developments and the legislative and liability implications of business decisions preferred.

Requirements: Must have a JD degree and be licensed to practice. 10 years of experience of providing legal advice on a broad range of business issues. Experience in medical device regulations and compliance issues are helpful. Passed a state bar examination.
