Employment Attorney The candidate will be responsible for supporting HR partners on day-to-day issues including leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations, wage-and-hour laws, recruiting and onboarding requirements, reorganizations, worker classifications and performance improvement plans. Drafting and editing employee guidelines, policies and agreements. Monitoring developments in applicable law. Creating and delivering best-in-class trainings to HR professionals and employee groups. Negotiating and drafting contracts for the HR Department. Addressing data privacy and security issues related to employee information in partnership with internal subject matter experts. Managing global HR projects. Providing legal advice on employment matters in Canada with the assistance of outside counsel. Conducting Code of Conduct investigations and making recommendations for corrective action. Supporting the Customs Department and will report to the Managing Attorney of Employment and Compliance.

The candidate should have J.D. from an accredited law school. Should have active State Bar Membership (in good standing). Should have 3-6 years of experience practicing as an employment attorney. Should have experience conducting employee investigations and evaluating employee disciplinary matters. Should have Contract drafting experience. Privacy and data protection experience as it relates to employee information is preferred.
