Commercial Dealer Finance Attorney The candidate is responsible for supporting business centers throughout the United States in a variety of aspects of commercial lending to automobile dealerships and supporting firm's executive offices in developing strategy, policies and procedures relating to the commercial lending organization. Reviewing, drafting and negotiating various loan agreements and contracts; drafting or reviewing letters, notices, and other forms; structuring transactions; and managing default, workout, bankruptcy and other collection, repossession and creditors' rights issues. Other duties include: conducting legal research, and managing outside counsel. Serves as trusted advisor and valued business partner to individuals and business teams, including senior leadership. Demonstrates a track record of empathy and credibility. Maintains confidentiality and acts with integrity. Offers creative solutions to sensitive issues using multi-disciplined approach. Effectively manages sensitive and complex issues that impact Ally. Works in a collegian manner with other Legal Staff colleagues, accepts direction from Legal Staff leadership, and demonstrates effectiveness and clarity in conveying legal advice. Balances competing client needs in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must have a Law Degree from a reputable law school and strong academic record. Membership in good standing in Michigan Bar, or appropriately licensed in other jurisdiction is needed. 3 + years progressive experience in one or more of the following areas commercial lending (inventory finance, real estate, term loans, revolving lines); Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code; Creditors' Rights and Bankruptcy laws; Business transactions; Lender liability, preferably at a large law firm is required. Excellent legal analysis and legal writing skills are must. Strong communication skills -- listening, verbal and written are needed. Demonstrated experience developing creative solutions to address legal challenges is required. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a timely manner is necessary.
