Counsel II - Mortgage Banking Section The candidate will be responsible for providing legal support for consumer real estate lending operations for all first and second mortgages and lines of credit. Will provide legal advice on matters for management of and its principal subsidiaries to assist them in planning and policy setting. Analyzes and provides guidance and advice on laws, regulations, ordinances and contractual obligations of impact to consumer loan servicing operations; prepares/approves policies and procedures, standardized forms and communications to be used in support thereof. Represents loan servicing operations before regulatory agencies, governmental agencies, government sponsored enterprises, investors and third party vendors. May have incidental responsibility for providing guidance to less experienced counsel or paralegals. Must have 2+ years of experience as a practicing attorney. Should have active State Bar membership. Should preferably have extensive knowledge and understanding of research, counsel, and guidance on complex legal questions or inquiries. Should have strong attention to detail and accuracy skills. Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Should preferably have broad experience in a secured loan servicing function. Experience with the OCC, CFPB and/or Attorneys General is essential. Should preferably have specific loan service experience with Real Estate Tax, Insurance (Hazard, Flood and PMI), Escrow, Credit Reporting, Vendor management, Successor & Deceased Borrower issues, open end credit, Foreclosure. Familiarity with TILA and RESPA, as amended by the Dodd-Frank Act is a plus. Should preferably have knowledge and experience with Westlaw. Close Date: 03/24/2019.
